How To Have A Successful Business
We can no longer rely on government or faith for social change. Every one of us. 1 means to do this is in and with your organization.
That provides you, and every other entrepreneur, a wonderful responsibility.
How do you contribute to your solution?
Stacey Boyd of Schoola found that art, physical education, and language programs were not getting funding in schools. So she made a platform to organize clothing drives for pupils who outgrow their clothing.
When the unused clothing that’s sent in is bought through Schoola, 40 percent of each purchase goes to finance a program.
In actuality, you do, whether you realize it or not. You affect everything in your enterprise.
Maintain the financial health of your company in mind. It’s only through creating a viable business model which you can continue to make a difference.
Your impact does not have to come from your own pocket. A Neilson survey found that 55 percent of online consumers in 60 nations are prepared to pay more for goods and services offered by companies committed to positive social and ecological effect. You can get help in making a difference in your clients, and they would like to help!
How do you have impact? How do you make a difference?
Incorporate making a difference in your vision and planning. Think about your impact purpose: what impact do you wish? What does that mean for each aspect of your company?
What contribution can you make to a very major issue, like poverty or hunger? How do you engage your clients to give back also? Brands like shoe vendor TOMS have a buy one, give 1 model. Good Food for Good has a buy one, feed one version with their cooking sauces and ketchups.
When you are building this vision, then just be certain it makes financial sense for your company.
What will you do with the money you earn? You could donate to your cause you to value or sponsor an event – easy-peasy. You could encourage your employees in donating their time, by giving them time to do so, and cash through donation matching. Doing so work together could be a wonderful team building opportunity also.
And that is only the start. Can your product or service change the way your customers see the world or interact with this? Pay at least a living wage to elevate the living standard of people closest to your company.
Collaborate. You do not have to do it alone. Collaborate with other companies with similar impact targets and see what you could accomplish together. Business can be a potent force permanently.
If you make your impact positive, you gain. With money. With influence. With your function in larger change.
Believe in yourself. Believe in better. Your contribution matters.
